The story

I played Dissidia, the original game. Those who are still confused on what to buy, surely it's more worth it to buy the Dissidia 012 because the 012 has the new tale on board. I am not gonna spoil the story, as the new tale is quiet interesting and enjoyable to go through. As in brief, the story is about Cosmos, the goddess of harmony and Chaos, the god of discord.  These two gods battle each other on who shall reign. You play as Cosmos's side. The story is about these two gods summoning warriors to battle for them. The warriors fight with few memories, so they don't recognize each other. By each fight, they regain bits of memories so they don't have any choice but to fight to have a chance to get back home.

Once Main Scenario 012 is finished, one shall unlock Main Scenario 013 which has the same story as the original Dissidia but with improved graphics and having the new features of Dissidia 012.

New Features

But what are the new features of Dissidia 012? What makes it different from the original Dissidia? Well, Dissidia 012 has the same story, but a new prequel story has been added to let you go through what happened before the original story. The new tale, known as Main Scenario 012 features the new characters; Lightning, Vaan, Laguna, Yuna, Kain and Tifa. This new tale makes it more interesting for the user to going playing the gameplay, arriving to the original tale. New characters are also shown in this new opening for Dissidia 012. To see the video, click here. The next two videos features the new characters playable although not all are in the video. Go here for most of the characters and here for the other available special characters although Cosmos isn't a playable character.

Personal Experience + Attacks

Dissidia Duodecim is not the normal confusing fighting game. I played loads other fighting games, not gonna advertise them. They were all good, but Dissidia 012 is a different one with just by one press of a button, the abilities set are used depending on the range one character is from the other. There are two types of attacks: one does HP attacks, the other does Bravery attacks. The more bravery you earn, the more HP damage you can do.
Bravery attacks

HP attacks
That doesn't that there aren't any different attack modes just because you're pressing a button to attack. The attacks differs from the way the cursor of your PSP is held. If you move it forward while pressing an HP or Bravery attack, it will do a type of move, while moving to the other directions will make a different move according to how you had set the moves under Abilities in customization menu. Every character has its own abilities depending on what he's best in. Apart from having ground attacks (attack while on foot), one can attack also while in mid-air which can help when the opponent is in range (close, middle, long) of your attacks. As you level up the character, new moves and abilities are learnt helping you to defeat more powerful opponents than you, with greater HP and Bravery.

A new feature was added to Dissidia 012. An Assist mode was added. It allows you to summon and assist when the right gauge is filled. There are two levels of assist mode: one attacks the opponent to gain you bravery and the second level attacks the opponent to gain you HP damage to the character against you. One can set the assist character in the customization menu under Assist.

However, the opponent can block your assist by attacking him/her. You can also attack your opponent's assist by locking on his/her assist. Although assist mode is Dissidia 012's new hot feature, Summonstones are still available. These are summoned depending on what the summonstone requires for example, one particular summonstone can only be summoned one you inflected a bravery break. A Bravery Break is inflicted by attacking the opponent's bravery until all the his bravery is gained inflicting a break. During this break, a major HP damage can be done just by attacking the opponent's HP.
